WHY ANTHROPOLOGY?

Why I have chosen to study and become an anthropologist

Anthropology is the holistic and comparative study of all humans and cultures. Studying this discipline has made me more knowledgeable about many cultures from around the world that are different than mine, and I now have the skills to process them in a culturally relativistic way. Not only am I culturally competent because of this, but I know how to face difficult and foreign situations with tact and respect. Anthropology has substantially increased my understanding of the world around me and the people in it. This discipline has honed my analytical and descriptive skills to accomplish things I never knew were possible. It pushes my boundaries and opens my eyes.

Anthropology has made me a better student, social scientist, and person.
